Fix Slow Running Computer – Effective, Easy Tips
It’s one of those things you can expect happening. Computers slow down, deteriorate, age and eventually die after several years. And there’s nothing permanent you can do to prevent it from completely shutting down. The first sign – windows slow startup – occurs then it’s downhill from there. However, it will take years before your computer dies and before that happens there are plenty of things you can do to prevent its accelerated depreciation. The tips on how to fix slow running computer will help you do just that.
{Tip #1} Disable all unused and inactive applications. Overtime, computer users install, use and download files and programs that compile to reduce the disk space of the computer. Eventually, the computer will bog down because there is not much disk space left for it to operate smoothly. The solution here is obvious: Remove all files and programs that are not regularly used and delete those that are not useful anymore. This could free up substantial amount of space.
Remove unneeded icons in the desktop, remove unneeded applications via the Control Panel, and disable programs that are set to run in the background. Doing any of these will not only free up disk space but will also free up more memory and improve the pc’s speed. Fix your computer’s speed by removing all unnecessary applications.
A quick word of advice: When removing or deleting any file from your computer, be sure that you know what that particular does in your pc’s system. Some programs that you don’t know may actually have adverse effects on your pc’s system if deleted. The disabling of this type of programs may cause computer malfunctions. So you see, it is easy to screw things up if you remove the wrong file. Once you have removed the programs, check your Recycle Bin and fully delete everything that’s in it. This will ensure that the file debris are removed from the system – although maybe not from the registry – so be sure to check the Recycle Bin.
{Tip #2} Install more memory. If your pc is slow and outdated, it will benefit immensely if you add some extra memory to its system. It is recommended to install at least twice its original capacity as this is often enough to run it more smoothly. {Tip #3} Use the Error Checking tool on all hard drives. This tool is effective at identifying the errors in the hard drives. Computers often suffer slow down when there are corrupted files that are hampering their optimal performance.
{Tip #4} Reinstall the default Operating System and settings.
This may take up some time and planning to do. But once you successfully complete this procedure, your computer will run in it’s original speed.
{Tip #5} Defragment the hard disk.
Many computer users try as much as possible to keep away from using the Defragmenter tool to the detriment of their machines. It’s time-consuming, yes, but is definitely among the best tools that can fix slow running computer. Like arranging your file cabinet, this tool neatly organizes the sectors of your hard drives, making it easier for your computer to locate all the files it needs to run all its applications.
